On behalf of  our well established client we are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant with immediate effect:

The overall responsibilities will include the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts, preparation of budgets and the provision of financial and costing information and advice to divisional Directors.

Key Accountabilities:

Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts including management accounts pack for Senior Management and Finance Committee review. Preparation of departmental budgets and forecasts (including income & expenditure accounts, capital projects and cash flow requirements). Preparation of costing schedules and other financial information for incorporation into tender documents. Preparation of reports to funders. Preparation of capital expenditure and other fixed assets reports. Assist as required with the preparation of annual statutory accounts. Assist with the maintenance and development of strong internal controls and conduct internal audits as required. Ad hoc analysis and reports of financial information as required. To Assist in the training of finance staff and to provide finance training for non-financial managers.

It should be noted that stated duties or location associated with the post may change to meet the future needs of the organisation.  Regularly liaising with management and staff at Praxis’ sites Regularly liaising with commissioners and other external parties as necessary

Essential Criteria:

Qualified Accountant and current member of one of the following recognised CCAB bodies: Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA); Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA); Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants (CIPFA) Experience within the charitable sector.  Minimum of 3 years experience in busy accounts function / practice.

Demonstrate experience in preparing accounts from trial balance level. Demonstrate experience of budgetary processes, including variance reporting. Excellent IT skills, especially in Excel. A broad level of non-audit work experience e.g. budgeting & forecasting; management reporting. Commercial/industry experience via work experience and/or secondments Experience of Integra software

Excellent organisational skills.  Proven ability to work within set time constraints.   Proven ability to move things forward without requirement to be asked.   Good interpersonal skills Good verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to effectively prioritise and forward plan.  At least 1 years experience of working within an environment where strict deadlines regularly applied.
