We're seeking to recruit ICT Services Assistant (x3) for our public sector client for the Craigavon area. The successful applicant will act as a first line support for technical support calls and provide support and assistance to users of the Council IT systems and resources.
Hours: 09.00am - 5.30pm (37hrs per week) A flexi time system is in operation which the post holder will be eligible to participate in. This post involves occasional work outside normal office hours to assist with evening meetings and participation in weekend and public holiday events.
Contract: 2 Fixed Term contracts for 6 months, may be extended Fixed Term contract for 6 months, may be extended (maternity cover) - 19th October 2020 - 30th April 2021

Duties and Responsibilities
•Assist with the implementation of the ICT Unit plan as a member of the IT team.
•Promote information security awareness, best practices, processes and procedures. Promote responsible use and storage of information.
•Operate as first point of contact and work towards addressing technical support issues.
•Enter support requests into the helpdesk system and escalate issues to other staff when required.
•Assist in the day-to-day administration of network services including user access to information, communication and email systems.
•Assist with the provision maintenance of the desktop Infrastructure and other hardware ensuring users have common, up to date systems.
•Assist with the maintenance and update of inventory records of all hardware and software.
•Assist with elected Member support and the IT needs and setup and support of meetings.
•Take the lead on smaller scale IT projects such as the procurement and implementation or rollout of hardware and software.
•Project management tasks such as planning, reporting progress, engaging with stakeholders and suppliers and ensuring projects are completed on time.
•Undertake any other relevant duties that may be required and are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.
•In addition to the standard pre-employment checks this position will also be subject to receipt of a satisfactory Basic AccessNI check.
Qualifications and Experience
It is essential that applicants hold the following:
•3rd level qualification in an IT based discipline
•1 years relevant experience to include all of the following areas: - Installing hardware and software within a network environment; - Administration of users within Active Directory; - Adding User mailboxes in Microsoft Exchange; - Supporting Microsoft desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office suites; - Supporting users and hardware within a network.
•If applicants do not meet the essential qualification as outlined above, they must have at least 3 years’ experience of all of the above.

•Able to work as part of a team;
•Able to work on own initiative;
•Excellent organisational skills;
•Hold a full current driving license (valid in the UK) and have access to a form of transport or *have access to a form of transport which will permit the applicant to carry out the duties of the post in full. *This relates only to any person who has a disability, which debars them from driving
•Relevant Microsoft Certifications; Cisco or other network technology certifications.
•Working knowledge using virtualisation technology such as VMware or Hyper V;
•Working knowledge supporting VOIP telephones;
•Experience using Backup systems such as Veeam or Backup Exec;
•Experience of large scale deployments of PCs and Laptops.
